Comparing public and private schools is a bit like comparing Air Asia with Singapore Airlines. There is no match in terms of quality. Yet fully fledged airlines are losing ground as more passengers fly no frills. The same could happen with community schools if they are really empowered and if we consider private schools more like social enterprises.
"The International Day of Non-violence is an occasion to "disseminate the message of non-violence, including through education and public awareness". The resolution reaffirms "the universal relevance of the principle of non-violence" and the desire "to secure a culture of peace, tolerance, understanding and non-violence".
The Asian Development Bank, when announced that Nepal can easily afford to pay back its soft loans and consequently decided to stop its grants making to the country, showed it can be a trailblazer in the field of development assistance. The Bank should reject last minute efforts from the Government to reverse its decision.
