The three-day conference will provide a platform for sharing knowledge on the effects of the pandemic in different regions across the Global South, and discuss what can be done to support recovery and get back on track to continue progress on the 2030 Sustainable Development Goals.
While not exclusive, UNU-WIDER particularly welcomes papers from researchers from the Global South on the implications of the COVID-19 pandemic for the developing world, and for the 2030 Agenda. UNU-WIDER is especially interested in papers that offer new empirical evidence on the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic as well as papers that analyse the efficacy of policy responses to the pandemic in the Global South. Papers that look at the implications of the pandemic for the future of work, global governance, fragility and conflict, and environmental sustainability are also welcome.
Interested applicants wishing to present original research should complete the online application form. In addition to researchers from the Global South, UNU-WIDER encourages submissions from early-career and female researchers.
The deadline for submitting proposals is 15 April 2021 23:59 UTC+2. Please see the UNU-WIDER website for more details.
