Join us for a launch event for Prof Sabina Faiz Rashid’s book Poverty, Gender and Health in the Slums of Bangladesh: Children of Crows, published by Routledge UK.
Author Prof Sabina Faiz Rashid will read excerpts from her book, which is a compelling ethnographic exploration of the daily struggles and health challenges faced by young women and their families in the slums of Dhaka city, Bangladesh. Through women’s accounts spanning two periods (2002-2003 and 2020-2022), Professor Rashid sheds light on the enduring poverty, injustices and health hardships experienced by those living on the margins of society.
We will also hear from Hayley MacGregor, Sohela Nazneen and Prof Sally Theobald during the course of the launch.
