The World Congress on Enforced
https://www.edworldcongress.org/about-us Disappearances is an initiative of CEDI, which is a multi-actor initiative aimed at contributing to the fight against enforced disappearances by promoting the universal ratification and effective implementation of the International Convention for the Protection of All Persons from Enforced Disappearance.
CEDI will organize a multi-actor World Congress on Enforced Disappearances in 2025 that will bring together civil society organizations, including associations of families, States, international bodies and experts.
Its objectives are to agree on a common strategy and action plan to promote the ratification and implementation of the Convention, put CSOs back at the centre of joint efforts and facilitate intergovernmental dialogue.
PLEDGES
All actors – including States, CSOs, international and regional organizations and mechanisms, academic institutions, experts – will be encouraged to register voluntary commitments related to the action plan on the occasion of the WCED.

2. Criteria
Voluntary pledges should:

Pursue the overall goal i.e. the universal ratification and implementation of the Convention

Be developed in consultation with stakeholders, especially victims

Be action-oriented and outline concrete actions

State clear, measurable commitment(s)

Provide a timeframe.
