Every individual develop and mature at different paces in life. Relating with the topic, there are certain social and emotional milestones each individuals go through at different stages of life. Keeping track of our own progress as social and emotional skills, we can develop and help reveal potential issues. Social emotional learning is firstly connected with; knowing who we really are.

Firstly, I would want to start by asking questions. Questions that will make you think twice about the situations that you are currently facing in your life. These questions seems basic but this will help you reflect on the important things that you are neglecting to become a better person. I would also like to request the readers to first answer these yourself, reflect the circumstances and then compare your situations by the help of social emotional learning techniques given.

Questions:

  1. Are you happy?
  2. Can you keep your mind in peace when you desperately need it?
  3. In some low point of your life, do you feel unwanted?
  4. Is or was your academics strong enough?
  5. Are you aware of your upcoming situations or challenge in your life?
  6. Ever dreamt of becoming a leader?
  7. Do you have healthy relationships?
  8. Do you feel connected with people around you?
  9. Rate your patience level form 1-10.
  10. Do you want some changes in your life?
  11. Do you want to identify your own problem?
  12. Do you want your social emotional feelings parallel?

Every individual have their own way of perceiving things in life. The values and ethics of one's understanding is always based on how one look at things; either positively or negatively.

"Emotional intelligence is a way of recognizing, understanding and choosing how we think, feel and act. It shapes our interactions with others and our understanding of ourselves. It defines how and what we learn; it allows us to set priorities; it determines the majority of our daily actions. Research suggests it is responsible for as much as 80 percent of the "success" in our lives." – J. Freedman

Social emotional learning will help us to identify about the confusing things that we are facing in life. For the inclusive learning process and well- being of a child, it is very necessary for a child to stay happy and positive about their changing emotions. A good state in peace of mind is necessary for an individual to focus and work happily. This learning helps us to trust ourselves first. The emotional abilities is the key point to understand ourselves and have self- awareness. Being happy is a matter of emotional health, we have to figure out about the things that makes us happy; may it be little or big things in life.

A leader is a dealer in hope. – Napoleon Bonaparte. Leadership is not easy, but we can make it easy by the help of social emotional learning techniques. The main technique for this can be convincing power. "Start form small" is the best solution for this. Example: if you have siblings, try becoming a leader in front of them. Ask your sibling how they feel, have emotional connection with them. Share things and know your strengths and weakness from them. This will help you know where your capabilities lies.

Social skills is helpful to build and maintain relationships throughout life. Good communication and effective listening is directly related to social emotional learning. A communication can be effective only if we think from others emotional point of view and relate to them. Social and emotional learning is the ability within the individual to recognize emotions and manage them effectively while establishing positive and healthy relationships with others around them.

In conclusion, every small or big things in life is connected with the social emotional learning. The social aspect is necessary to be connected, have empathy, solve problems, make responsible decision, sharpen the skills, be aware about the surrounding and maintain healthy social relationships. The emotional aspect is necessary to have patience, to grow from within, be mortal, being overpowering and most importantly to understand things critically. SEL is a powerful mechanism for inculcating long-term social and emotional durability and addressing individual's trauma.
