The Global Youth Climate Summit will bring together youth from across the Global South and beyond to tackle urgent climate change issues and develop solutions to conserve biodiversity. The Summit aims to expand youth’s knowledge about climate science, build their leadership skills, and support youth in climate action initiatives.
The Brazil Federal University of Minas Gerais will host the Summit, alongside additional partners and sponsors. The event is expected to bring together 200 participants in person with another 300 joining virtually. The Summit will also select ten youth climate champions to implement biodiversity and climate projects in their communities.
The Summit will feature an opening plenary, a fireside chat on climate restoration, and collaborative sessions on climate and biodiversity action, cross-cutting partnerships for climate action, and mobilizing others for climate justice and change. A closing plenary will focus on reaffirming commitments to climate action.
