If LinkedIn is the go-to platform for professional growth, and TikTok for zany videos, where might you go to find like-minded people who are passionate about youth development? That's how Grab a Coffee was born.

Welcome to AVPN's Grab a Coffee, a Community Hub for Youth for youth-focused impact practitioners within the AVPN Network to connect, learn and act! Here, you can grab a coffee with other practitioners to meet, exchange knowledge and forge collaborations along the way!

  • What is Grab a Coffee?  What's in it for me to join?
    • Grab a Coffee is a community hub of youth-focused impact practitioners within the AVPN network, the largest network of Social Investors in Asia. Here, you can find unlikely allies and turn these connections into potential collaborations!
    • AVPN envisions this to be a practitioner-driven space with the intent goal of fostering greater collaborations towards youth development in Asia. We want you to take charge of your connections, identify areas of alignment and work together towards greater impact!
  • What am I expected to do?
    • To optimise your experience on Grab a Coffee as a Giver, Seeker, or both, first complete your profile with information on what you can offer or help you are looking for. Then browse through the community page, and find potential practitioners that you are interested in and make a connection!
    • Once connected, find a common time to meet! Most of this interaction will take place via email and other web-related tools (for example, instant messaging) or face-to-face, as appropriate.
    • Both you and your connection should work out what kind of conversations and support you are looking for. This could include capacity building advice, on-the-ground insights, market and sectoral expertise, and/or social investment needs.
    • Share articles, promote events, and pose questions on the Grab a Coffee forum.
  • How long will the commitment be?
    • There is no specific timeframe. To fully benefit from the connection, however, we recommend having more than one online conversation and one in-person meet-up to learn more about each other.
    • AVPN has set a limit of 10 connections per user. Nonetheless, you can decrease or increase the limit, depending on your availability.
    • As with any relationship, if a party discontinues the relationship, we encourage mutual amicable closure and accountability
  • Are there any potential risks to me or my company?
    • No. It is not required for you to engage in any business transactions with your connections; instead, the relationship should typically involve the flow of general information and advice.
    • If and when there are any business transactions arising from Grab a Coffee, you shall indemnify and hold harmless AVPN against any and all damage, loss, claims, liabilities, expenses, demands or proceedings.
  • The relationship is not going well/I have other concerns. What can I do?
    • Inform the Youth Opportunities Platform (YOP) Team at youth@avpn.asia. We will provide our support to resolve the situation in a positive manner.
