Next week's Collective Impact Action Summit—running virtually April 25-27—will bring together backbone leaders, practitioners, funders, partners, and more from around the world to share cutting-edge thinking and lessons learned about centering equity and belonging in collaborative work.
Amongst the over 40 featured virtual sessions are a series of Short Talks highlighting leaders from across the field of collective impact, equity, data, and more.

Community-Centered Design: Leveraging Power for Equitable Outcomes
Michelle Carrillo (Humboldt Area Foundation + Wild Rivers Community Foundation) shares how a community foundation can serve as a backbone and incubator for multiple collective impact and racial equity initiatives while ensuring the community needs are at the center of their work.
 
 
Partnering for Transformation in the Community Investment System
Omar Carrillo Tinajero (Center for Community Investment) and Heather Vaikona (Lift to Rise) share how a multi-sector team from California’s Coachella Valley is working to develop 10,000 new affordable housing units by 2028.
 
 
Where People, Policy, and Power Meet
Anthony Hanna and Matthew McCaffrey, both from Seeding Success, will explore the political and policy development considerations critical to the design and management of policy change through collective impact.
 
 
FutureMakers: Using the SDGs and Collective Impact Design to Change Systems and Achieve Sustainable Impact
Tessa LeSage (Collaboratory) will share about the FutureMakers Coalition, a regional collective impact initiative that includes a network of 250+ individuals and 140 partner organizations with a shared goal of transforming the workforce in Southwest Florida.
 
 
Disrupting the Power Structures; Moving Community Voice into Decision-Making
Salvador Lopez and Shayla Young, both from KConnect, will explore an innovative, equitable approach that can help provide an authentic and effective method for true community engagement across all populations within a collective impact initiative.
 
 
Organizational Readiness for Centering Equity
Rajiem Seabrook and Heidi Wallace, both of EmpowerMT, will share their approach to empowering individual and institutional action to interrupt oppression and create pathways to inspire effective collaborations to advance racial equity and social justice, elevate youth and adult engagement, and disrupt oppressive systems.
 
 
Partnering with Young Black Boys and Men to Redefine Public Safety
Anthony Smith and Emanuel "Boo" Milton, both from Cities United, will share how Cities United has partnered with Mayors, young leaders, and many other key stakeholders, all committed to creating Safe, Healthy, and Hopeful Communities for young Black men and boys, and how they keep the voices of young Black men and boys at the center of the work.
