What does volunteering for the GTM entail?
The selected volunteers will be given roles including, but not limited to, the following:
- Participate in the live panel discussion of the inaugural session: 'A Global Invitation to Reimagine Volunteering for the 2030 Agenda’.
- Participate in live chats and panel discussions, as part of the GTM 2020 sessions.
- Support the GTM 2020 as facilitators and manage virtual breaks.
- Read out the Call to Action in the closing session of the meeting.
How do I apply?
- Submit a one-minute video of yourself in which you introduce yourself and volunteering efforts and explain what ‘Reimagining Volunteering for the 2030 Agenda’ means to you.
- The video should be submitted to Facebook or Twitter, tagging UNV and using the hashtags #volunteerSDGs and #VolunteerVideos. Make sure that the post is set to public so that others can see your video.
- Each applicant can submit one video. Volunteers who submit more than one video will be disqualified from the process.
- The deadline for video submissions is 9 June 2020!

The video application is open to volunteers of all ages and from all over the world.
What are the selection criteria?
- The applicant must currently be a volunteer.
- Potential contributions by the applicant should be relevant to the theme of the GTM 2020, 'Reimagining Volunteering for the 2030 Agenda'.
- The applicant must demonstrate a strong ability to speak publicly and engage an audience.
- Selected volunteers must represent all regions of the UN Regional Commissions, and reflect gender balance and diversity.
