The first regional forum is the North America regional forum that will be hosted by the Wolfson Campus, Miami Dade College, Florida, United States, from 11-13 March 2024.  The theme is "Mobilizing for Anti-Trafficking Action: Bridging the Gaps and Enabling Collective Awareness through Technological Advancements."  Speakers will include survivors, tech experts, the United Nations, government officials, etc.

The Forum is a neutral, democratic space. As such, the Forum’s leadership, agenda, and priorities emerge from the collective voice of anti-modern slavery actors around the world. Each regional and global Forum curates a neutral space void of agendas and competition that convenes stakeholders from all regions, disciplines, and sectors to collectively strengthen the anti-modern slavery movement.

The Forum is the only anti-modern slavery space that is inclusive of the full diversity of stakeholders such as government leaders and agencies, survivors, businesses and corporations, unions, CSOs, United Nations agencies, regional and local coalitions, researchers, and funders. Survivors and survivor-led organizations are significant contributors to the leadership of the Forums. At the 2023 Global Forum, survivors participated in leading 67% of the events on the Forum agenda. Regional and Global Forums provide participants with opportunities to learn new approaches, strategies, and methods for eradicating modern slavery and to develop significant relationships with other actors in the anti-modern slavery movement.

ABOUT

Alliance 8.7 was launched following a series of regional consultations and workshops. The structure of the partnership is based on a consultative process led by partners.

At the first strategic workshop held in 2017, the Alliance's initial priorities and action areas were defined. In 2022, Alliance 8.7 Global Coordinating Group members and representatives of Pathfinder Countries gathered for the second strategic workshop. It was the first such workshop held since the Pathfinder Strategy was established in 2018. It was an opportunity to define the future direction of the Alliance and to reorient the focus towards action on the ground.
