The 2022 World Volunteer Conference, Speakers Highlight: Youth Volunteering

Dr. Chris Millora is Senior Research Associate & Leverhulme Trust Early Career Fellow at the School of Education & Lifelong Learning, University of East Anglia. He leads the research project ‘Literacies of Dissent’ exploring the literacy and learning dimensions of youth social movements in the Global South. He was the lead researcher of UNV’s 2022 SWVR and author of the upcoming research on youth and student organizing during COVID-19. Chris will present in the plenary on Creating a World of Change Makers: Youth People & Volunteering.
 

Mauricio Fuentes leads the Transforma País program at the National Youth Institute of Chile. A lawyer by trade, his passion is working in the social world and promoting the volunteer ecosystem. He is an advocate for youth civil participation through volunteering in order to encourage new leadership an change. He has been linked to volunteering and youth issues for the last 17 years, participating in varioust volunteering projects, organizations and events across Latin America. Mauricio will present on Creating an environment that enables youth volunteering to flourish

 
Felicitie Walls is Volunteering Manager at Wales Council for Voluntary Action (WCVA), enabling organizations to deliver high quality volunteering opportunities in Wales and trustee of WCIA. She is a passionate advocate of youth volunteering and leadership, campaigns for the Power of Youth, recognizing the value young people bring to society and the voluntary sector. She has built a network of future leaders in Wales, enabling young people to access leadership opportunities. Felicitie will present on Future leadership, developing the role of young volunteers.
 
Ahmad El-Zubi is the Founding CEO of Naua, a not-for-profit social impact platform that aims to promote a culture of philanthropy and volunteering by connecting civil society actors within a common framework for measuring impact. He is also the Director of Community Outreach at the Crown Prince Foundation. He is a founding member of the World Economic Forum’s Global Shapers Community in Amman was the first elected curator. Ahmad will present on Future leadership, developing the role of young volunteers.
