On 1 December 2021, WHO is calling on global leaders and citizens to rally to confront the inequalities that drive AIDS and to reach people who are currently not receiving essential HIV services.

Delhi, India – This week saw the virtual launch of a South Asian knowledge hub on labour migration by a cross-agency UN regional programme. The South Asia Centre for Labour Mobility and Migrants (SALAM) will bring together academic and policy think tanks from across the sub-region to advance the state of knowledge in this area, building bridges across disciplines.

The 2021 Seoul UN Peacekeeping Ministerial will be hosted by the Republic of Korea on 7-8 December 2021. It will be the latest in a series of meetings at head of state, government or ministerial level since 2014, with the 2019 UN Peacekeeping Ministerial held in New York.

The European Commission is proposing new rules to curb EU-driven deforestation, as well as new rules to facilitate intra-EU waste shipments to promote circular economy and tackle the export of illegal waste and waste challenges to third countries. The Commission also presents a new Soil strategy to have all European soils restored, resilient, and adequately protected by 2050.
