The 2020 Adaptation Gap Report launched by UNEP "finds that such action is lagging far behind. It finds that while nations have advanced in planning and implementation, huge gaps remain, particularly in finance for developing countries and bringing adaptation projects to the stage where they bring real reductions in climate risks."

As the coronavirus pandemic has profoundly affected sport, including the use of sport in development, it is opportune to question the role of sport in society.
