18 June 2021, Rome - Members of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) today endorsed the new Strategic Framework that will drive the Organization's efforts to transform agri-food systems and address hunger, poverty and inequality over the next decade.

New Climate Change Action Plan will increase high-impact support to deliver climate results, targeted towards reducing the trajectory of emissions and strengthening adaptation and resilience in developing countries.

The new legislation will make human rights a much stronger priority for many corporations operating in Europe and around the world, making human rights due diligence mandatory, implementing in this way one of the key aspects of the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights. Now it is up to the European Commission to come up with the final proposed legislation.

The central theme of the conference is 'Solidarity, Peace and Social Justice'. Together, these three concepts represent the organization's aspirations for approaches to global development that address inequality, poverty and political marginalization, also in connection with climate change and other environmental threats.
