Yesterday the European Commission, the executive branch of the European Commission has opened up a public consultation on ways to increase the 2030 climate target. " To this end, the Commission intends to increase the EU’s 2030 target for greenhouse gas emission reductions to at least -50% and towards -55% compared to 1990 levels"
