The statistics for unemployment are sobering: In Indonesia, 1 out of 14 youths are out of work; In Thailand, more than half the youth population is not proficient in secondary-level reading and math.

Youth employability is paramount to long-term economic performance and stability, yet we are not engaging this generation to the knowledge, skills, and competencies needed for an increasingly complex and volatile world.

We need to accelerate youth employment in Southeast Asia today.

In collaboration with WISE Philanthropy Advisors, AVPN will work towards identifying Non-Profit Organisations that are active in upskilling and youth employment to partner with a prominent Swiss Foundation specialised in youth employment.

Successful applicants will enter a partnership programme with a former executive of one of the world’s leading IT companies to transform and expand their impact in Southeast Asia. The partnership will entail funding support from the prominent Swiss Foundation.

The grant amount could range between USD 50,000 to USD 200,000 per year. Terms of funding will be determined based on a mutual agreement between successful applicant(s) and funder.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

  • Registered Non-Profit Organisation (Applicants may be registered outside of the target countries as long as operations and use of grant is applied in those countries)
  • Incorporated for at least 3 years
  • Cleared from all global sanctions lists or blacklisted by any UN or international agency

Applicants stand a good chance of receiving financial assistance if they are able to demonstrate substantial commitment towards implementing improvement, expansion and/or transformation plans to scale their impact through these various approaches
