Online Course on Civil Resistance and Nonviolent Conflict

During the course, you will:

  • Learn the core concept of civil resistance and nonviolent conflict.
  • Examine the evolution, dynamics, and direction of nonviolent civil resistance movements.
  • Explore the concept of power, consent and disobedience in the study and practice of civil resistance
  • and nonviolent conflict.
  • Analyze the characteristics of nonviolent movements in South Asian context.
  • Build and contribute to a South Asian network of nonviolent civil resistance movement.


 

PLATFORM


The course will take place on the designated online learning platform managed by the CSC. It will begin with a

live orientation webinar that

guides admitted participants through the course and provides tips on how to gain the most from the program.

Note: Class participation is not restricted by time zone. Participants may join anytime during the week to

complete the course. However, they are required to participate in the live orientations and final evaluation of the

online course.


 

WHO SHOULD APPLY?

This course is specially designed for junior scholars and educators, youth, students, movement activists,

practitioners as well as other interested individual who have strong motivation to learn and apply their

knowledge about nonviolent movements and campaigns in respectful and collaborative ways.

Enthusiast applicants from Nepal and South Asia region are highly encouraged to apply.

Fees: We offer this course free of cost for Nepali as well as South Asian participants.

Time commitment: 6hrs per week
