Governments from across Asia and the Pacific today endorsed a UN resolution to take urgent action to combat climate change and its impact. They re-committed to immediately curb greenhouse gas emissions – of which the region accounts for over half of the global emissions.

UN Climate Change News, 5 June 2023 – As part of its increased efforts to boost the recognition and transparency of voluntary climate action initiatives and pledges, UN Climate Change has published a landmark ‘recognition and accountability framework’ for non-Party stakeholders, as well as its first implementation plan under the framework, which focuses on net-zero pledges from non-state actors.

The Global Forum on Adaptive Social Protection will strengthen international commitment for supporting ASP. It will take stock of ASP implementation to date and derive lessons for the future. The event will take place in Berlin from 13 to 15 June 2023. It will be presented in English, but some of its sessions will feature simultaneous interpretation into French and Spanish.

OSLO, 5 June 2023 – A shortfall of nearly $650 million in child protection funding is leaving nearly 18 million vulnerable children and caregivers living in the world’s worst humanitarian crises at risk of violence, exploitation and abuse, said Save the Children.
