The German-Colombian Peace Institute (Instituto CAPAZ), the Special Jurisdiction for Peace in Colombia (Jurisdicción Especial para la Paz-JEP) and the International Institute for Social Studies (ISS) are pleased to announce the international conference, 'The JEP as a new model of Transitional Justice: Lessons learned for the future of Transitional Justice', which will take place from 23-24 November at ISS in The Hague.
About the event
The conference will be opened by the President of the JEP, Judge Roberto Carlos Vidal. Renowned international academics, practitioners, representatives of the JEP and the International Criminal Court (ICC) will discuss with the audience in the seven panel discussions the progress and innovation in the JEP's judicial dealing with the past. The international dialogue will also serve to shed light on the challenges and prospects for the future development of transitional justice in Colombia and other contexts. The conference is funded by the German Federal Foreign Office.
