My Nepali friend Shanta, who lives in the San Fernando Valley where I grew up.  Go figure.  I met Shanta last year through another Nepali friend.  I find it quite remarkable and very world citizen like, that I'm now friend wtih Shanta and her Indian husband Dinesh. It literally blows my mind how things come full circle.  The place hwere I grew up, where I didn't reallly recognize much diversity is where I find a Nepali friend, who is living a very American lifestyle and here I am having grown up in the US living in Nepal.

Marketing can play a very important role in spreading the positive message of many good organizations. It has an essential role to empower the right message to reach out to potential donors and supporters; at the same time, we all need to be careful in believing too much into organizations that are blowing their own horn too loudly. "Standing alone" solutions are more the exception than the rule.
