Join us for this important online event, taking place one week ahead of the UN SDG Summit in New York. The event will assess how successful the Sustainable Development Goals have been as a universal global agreement and suggest ways in which the post-2030 global agenda could build on lessons learned through the SDGs era.

It is generally accepted that the SDGs are unlikely to be met, but this does not necessarily mean that they have failed. We need to learn from the experience that shaped the SDGs, assess what has changed since 2015 and determine how we can best make progress up to 2030.

The event will focus on:

  • Geopolitical shifts, including the rise of China but also the decline of multilateralism
  • Questions around accountability and particularly the role of the private sector
  • Inclusion – how to incorporate the views and needs of the most marginalised
