The World Bank’s International Development Association (IDA) has been a committed partner in South Asia for over six decades, catalyzing transformative change to elevate the quality of life for millions. In the face of overlapping challenges in the region, the 21st replenishment of IDA (IDA21) is a milestone moment in the journey of South Asia’s development and recovery. Tune in to hear from leaders and changemakers at the third IDA21 Replenishment Meeting in Kathmandu, Nepal. 

WHAT IS IDA?

The International Development Association (IDA) is the part of the World Bank that invests in the future of people and planet, with projects across 75 countries. Established in 1960, IDA aims to reduce poverty by providing grants and zero- to low-interest loans for programs that boost economic growth, reduce inequalities, and improve people’s living conditions.

Global and Regional IDA Forums

Regional IDA Forums will be held between April and July 2024 across all the seven regions that IDA operates in. There will also be two global IDA Forums to be held in Washington, DC in April and October 2024. These forums will also be an opportunity to update civil society partners on the progress of implementing reforms towards a better Bank based on the Evolution Roadmap consultations.
