The UNHCR Nansen Refugee Award is presented every year to an individual or organization who has dedicated their time going above and beyond the call of duty to help people forcibly displaced from their homes.Dr. Evan Atar Adaha, surgeon and medical director at a hospital in Bunj, north-eastern South Sudan, is the 2018 winner of UNHCR’s Nansen Refugee Award.

The Forum is aimed at consolidating and developing cooperation among female leaders for addressing urgent problems and strengthening the atmosphere of trust and mutual understanding in a world based on the universal values of humanism, rights and dignity. The Russian Federation is the main organizers.
