Published: 4th June 2024 Approximately 1 in 4 workers in Europe’s agriculture sector are migrants. Migrant workers face violence, long working hours, and routine underpayment. The new EU supply chains law, the Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence Directive, is a tool to combat this exploitation.

This PRIO Paper examines global conflict trends between 1946 and 2023 using data from the Uppsala Conflict Data Program (UCDP). In 2023, 59 state-based conflicts were recorded in 34 countries, the highest number of conflicts registered since 1946.
