Generation Equality Forum: Paris | News and events: Events calendar | UN Women – Headquarters

The Generation Equality Forum in Paris, a milestone global event to advance action and investment for gender equality, will be held from 30 June to 2 July 2021. Heads of State and Government, international organizations, civil society, private sector, and youth organizations will gather to launch the Global Acceleration Plan for Gender Equality, announce concrete commitments, and strengthen intergenerational, multi-stakeholder partnerships to advance gender equality over the next five years.

Registered attendees will gain access to the Forum’s digital platform, offering the opportunity to attend nearly 90 events featuring 500 panellists and interact with tens of thousands of participants from around the world.

The Forum responds to the fact that the COVID-19 crisis has exacerbated gender inequalities and reinforces the urgency to act to accelerate progress. As the world begins to rebuild, we must put gender equality at the heart of recovery efforts. Twenty-six years after the landmark Fourth World Conference on Women in Beijing, the Generation Equality Forum will be a global turning point to advance women’s rights.

Join us as we begin the countdown to the GEF in Paris! A selected number of events will mark the beginning of our three-days journey. On 28th and 29th June, make sure you do not miss the curtain-raiser events that will pave the way for the mainstage events in Paris, see full list here ►
