In its second year, Laureus and the Foot Locker Foundation Community Empowerment Program will continue to provide grants, ranging from $20,000-$100,000 to local organizations delivering programs that empower young people, including sports-based youth development, health and wellness, education and life skills support, mentoring, and workforce development.

The grants build on Foot Locker, Inc.’s and Laureus’ shared goal to inspire and empower youth while expanding the initiative to five new metropolitan areas in Europe. This year’s application is open to community-based organizations in Canada: Toronto and Montreal; and Europe: London (Brixton, Croydon), Birmingham (UK), Manchester (UK), Paris, Marseille, Barcelona, Naples, Berlin, Amsterdam and Rotterdam.

Grant winners will be selected based on a two-step application process beginning with the Expression of Interest (EOI) form available at the link below. EOIs will be assessed by Laureus’ network of local and regional experts and recommended for the second step (submission of a formal proposal). The recommendations will be reviewed and finalized jointly between Laureus and Foot Locker, Inc., including input from community-based Foot Locker, Inc. team members. Laureus will issue invitations to submit formal proposals to selected applicants in the first quarter of 2023 for one-year grants to be disbursed in Summer 2023. Once all of the EOI’s have been reviewed, Laureus & Foot Locker will contact those we wish to submit full applications to do so in March 2023.
