‘We Built Those Towers,’ Say Migrant Workers Who Made Tournament Possible

In 2021, The Solutions Project disrupted the philanthropic and media sector to focus on climate justice and solidarity. With big investments from our philanthropic partners, we scaled and expanded our support of grassroots organizations to build solutions, funding, and influence for communities most affected by the climate crisis.

"The world still needs a giant leap on climate ambition. The red line we must not cross is the line that takes our planet over the 1.5 degree temperature limit. To have any hope of keeping to 1.5, we need to massively invest in renewables and end our addiction to fossil fuels.

Cities are warming twice as fast as the global average, and it is imperative we scale up solutions to tackle dangerous urban heat. The Nature for Cool Cities Challenge seeks to catalyze this goal by supporting a cohort of global south cities committed to developing and implementing nature-based solutions to deliver on heat resilience and cooling benefits.
