The specific objectives of the roundtables are to:
I. Establish a shared understanding of the outlook/progress on the goals and of the interlinkages across goals by:
- Providing an update on progress made since the last assessment.
- Examining the impact of COVID-19 on progress of the SDGs.
II. Jointly develop recommendations on:
- Addressing human rights and gender equality considerations as well as other systemic challenges that are barriers to further progress.
- Priorities for strengthening policy coherence in implementation efforts – including through attention to key leverage points.
- Promising solutions and innovations (policy, social, institutional, technological, or other) at the national level, especially considering the impacts of COVID-19.
- Areas for regional cooperation to address the transboundary dimensions of these goals and challenges.
