More than five hundred designs from around the globe competed for the honour of becoming the official logo for the International Volunteer Year 2026. This logo competition, held from 5 December 2024 to 12 January 2025, sought to find a design that would perfectly align with United Nations General Assembly Resolution A/RES/78/127 and serve as the ideal emblem for IVY 2026.

Since G20 Finance Ministers agreed to work together to effectively tax the super-rich in July 2024, billionaires have pocketed over $1 trillion in new wealth.

Almost 9 in 10 going all day without eating as hunger in Haiti reaches record high

ActionAid survey finds 99% of families are going without meals – sometimes for days at a time – because they can’t afford to buy food. 88% of households said a family member had gone all day without food in the past month. Some families are surviving on just over US$1 worth of food per person for an entire month.

24 February 2025 Health Breast cancer cases are expected to increase by 38 percent globally by 2050, with annual deaths from the disease projected to rise by 68 percent, according to a new report from the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC), a specialised branch of the World Health Organization (WHO).
