Geneva, 22 May 2023 (WMO) - Extreme weather, climate and water-related events caused 11 778 reported disasters between 1970 and 2021, with just over 2 million deaths and US$ 4.3 trillion in economic losses, according to a new figure from the World Meteorological Organization (WMO).

The two sides agreed to resolve "all matters," said a joint filing from the opposing counsel that did not disclose terms of the agreement.

Amnesty International reports only on executions, death sentences and other aspects of the use of the death penalty, such as commutations and exonerations, where there is reasonable confirmation. The third Afghanistan Legal Research Network symposium of 2023, hosted by the Max Planck Foundation, discussed the challenges faced by people with disabilities currently in Afghanistan and highlighted the intersectional challenges faced by women and girls with disabilities and by those in rural areas. Recommendations to advocate for these rights to be upheld were considered.
