The Namibian and DW reported the news that followed a long debate within Germany that had strained the relationship with the former colony. The German government is willing to pay 1,1 billion euros over 30 years but the amount has been rejected by Ovaherero Traditional Authority (OTA) and the Nama Traditional Leaders Association (NTLA) whose people suffered the most.

The Hague, 26 May 2021 - For the first time in history, a judge has held a corporation liable for causing dangerous climate change. Today, as a result of legal action brought by Friends of the Earth Netherlands (Milieudefensie) together with 17,000 co-plaintiffs and six other organisations1 the court in The Hague ruled that Shell must reduce its CO2 emissions by 45% within 10 years.

Left Behind: How Facebook is neglecting Europe's infodemic

As Europe enters a third COVID-19 wave, our research finds that Facebook is failing to protect Europeans from dangerous misinformation. Facebook promised to do more to protect its users, but a year after the start of the pandemic, our findings suggest it has not improved its ability to detect dangerous misinformation, emphasising the need for urgent EU regulations.
